Sometimes my friends are just dorks/And the Vegan 100

I was talking to my very best friend in the world tonight. I asked her if she had read my new blog, and her comment to me was, and I quote " I am not going to look at your blog of "FAKE" food" Fake food! FAKE FOOD!

My wonderful friend is a very smart person, she knows about nutrition, tries to eat healthy, but to say fake food to me! OMGosh!

So for the record.......I DO NOT EAT FAKE FOOD!

In my fridge right now there are 4 different fruits, 17 different veggies, organic rice, coconut and soy milks. Vegan mayo, organic soy yogurts and a ton of really good for you foods. My freezer is stocked with whole grain breads and organic nuts and fruit, not to mention...Nooch, every kind of flour, popcorn and tofu...

While I am writing this mainly because I threatened to do so, and to publicly and jokingly throw her statement at her, there are alot of people that feel this way. It is a shame that most MEAT EATERS think you HAVE to rely on animal products for health reasons. What they don't realize is that crap will kill you! Milk helps cause osteoporosis, there are alot of people allergic to milk and will never know. We all know what meat will do to your body. How does the commercial go? MEAT IT'S WHATS FOR DINNER! How about Meat it's what is killing you!

Then there is the obvious, the animals people eat are tortured. You are eating the fear, the miserable conditions and the disease these poor helpless animals lived with daily. I live in Kansas, I have seen first hand the cruelty inflicted on these "meat animals".

If everyone would watch meet your meat on peta's website there would be alot more vegans. I guarantee it.

Here are some reasons to go vegan, this is just for fun.

Your skin will shine

Your breath and skin won't smell bad anymore

You will lose weight, and your body will reprogram itself to take you down to your natural size. No need to diet!

Your body will be more able to fight off infections and bacteria

Going vegan has been known to help with celiac disease, heart disease, some progressive cancers have been stopped and aging is reversed.

There is no reason to eat meat. Everything you need can be found in the vegetable kingdom.

So there is my rant...Whew that felt great! I think everyone should be a hippy like me! Lets love our Earth, love all living things, be peaceful and kind.

On a side note,
I wasn't always a vegan. I have had my love affair with the hamburger. But, I have known for a long time vegan is the way to go. Health issues brought me new perspectives in eating, I am grateful I am a vegan.

Now the fun stuff!

I offer up my Vegan’s Hundred, created by Hannah at BitterSweet and of My Sweet Vegan fame.

For what it's worth, I agree with your "rant". Intentional living IS awesome! Everything you said is true! I wasn't always vegan either, but after four years going strong, I wouldn't change it for the world. Now my goal is to be a raw vegan. I'm getting there--one step at a time. :)

I hope everyone will become a happy vegan someday. And I hope that someday comes sooner than later.

Thanks for sharing your blog with me, VivaciousVegan! :)

(I was happy to see yellow watermelon on the list! I have had that, and it was without a doubt, THE best watermelon I ever tasted! Yellow--who'd have thought?!)
