Complete random ramblings

Well my friends, it is 4:53am here in Kansas....
As you can tell I am having trouble sleeping yet again!

I honestly have no idea what the problem is...although I did get a Remicade on Monday and things went wrong during the procedure, The IV came out of the vein in the top of my right hand and was pumping the infusion under the skin. It was gross, and horrifying and painful all at the same time.
Ever since then (and the panic attack at the doctors office) I am having trouble sleeping.

Oh well, I will sleep when my body is ready!!!!!

So onto the complete random ramblings day!~!

Over the last week I have taken many photo's that you have not seen. They are completely random and I thought it would be neat to share my ramblings with you today...

A close up of the pasta salad I made to go with our Ribletz

My kitchen earlier yesterday while the sun was shining!!! You can see the roaster getting ready to be filled with cabbage and potatoes!!

Chris and I bought a new microwave cart to free up some cabinet space for me in the kitchen!!!!
Now I have a place to put our canisters! Those are my plates for fancy pictures for the blog!!! Oh, and the basket holds my knives and peelers, zesters, reamers etc.
In the canisters from left to right,
Organic unbleached flour, Jasmine rice,Oatmeal, Organic cane sugar, Organic German Chamomile tea
Last Friday I went to Glenn's Bulk foods to buy some Vital wheat gluten, and found these cups!
Since I love my husband with a passion, I could not pass these up.
Inside is a writing from Song of Solomon!! My absolute favorite book in the bible!
Something you might never see again. My daughter Kait (on the left) hates to have her picture taken. I do not know what got into her, but she allowed me to take several pictures with her sister and dad....This is the first picture taken of Kaiti in two years...seriously
Taken on Emma's birthday..
Chris bought me this outdoor rug at Wal-Mart!!!! You can almost see the green on my toenails...
I love it very much and it makes ME smile!
Our front porch, with the notorious red tulip chairs. If you have no idea what I am talking about go to: http://vivaciousvegan-intentionalliving.blogspot.com/2010/01/you-know-your-vegan-if.html Seriously go read it....

Here are some of the books I have been reading, (sorry about the darkness, it was taken on my black coffee table)
Excellent book, but i am not keen on the use of sea vegetables in every single recipe.....seriously.

Since I live less than 20 minutes away from an Amish/Mennonite community, I could not pass up this cookbook for .50 cents at my local library. It was a steal, and the best part, you would not believe all of the vegan recipes in it!
Really great gardening book!
I do not know if I will incorporate his idea's this year, but it is worth picking up if you want a garden in a little space, or you want more bang for your buck!
Our very first flowers of spring have popped up. Blue boy Hyacinth's, I think??? They came with the house and are planted in our tiger lily bed. Two years ago we only had 1, this year we have 5!!
Well, thanks for stopping by and listening to my random ramblings.
It is 5:20am, and I am going to watch the newest episode of LOST, go wake up Kait and get her off to school, and run to the store! Oh the joy...(sarcasm...!!....)

I thought I was the only one that wrote posts in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep. ;-)

Sorry to hear about the IV incident. I know you were happy to leave the doctor's office that day.

The square foot gardening concept is great. I have the original book. It is very useful.

Now I need to go back and look at Clean Food. I didn't focus on the sea vegetables, but then again I have learned to embrace them. It did take a while though. ;-)

hope you are having a good day,
Alicia

What a horrible incident at the doctors office! I am so sorry to hear that, Brandi! You must have been so upset! I sure would have been...

At least you have all these happy pictures to warm your heart when sleep doesn't come the way it should. Your daughters are so cute! And the new spring flowers are lovely! And I like to see your kitchen! It makes me want to be there--it's looks very cozy!

I'm glad you shared your "random" thoughts and photos! You should do that anytime! I like learning more about you! Speaking of which, I should get to it and put up a few new posts on my own blog! I've got material to write about, now I just need to do it! :)

I love you, Brandi! I think about you all the time!

I love Clean Food. I love sea vegetables, so I don't mind the use of them. My SIL also loves the book and uses it all the time.

I love, love, love the mugs! My husband doesn't drink anything hot and I have never seen him hold a mug in his ever except to wash mine!

You've got the cutest kitchen! I've got the Square Foot Gardening book, too, and have managed to do two seasons with good success. I'll have to post some photos and some blog posts about it. This year, we've got three boxes (12 in each, so 36 squares) filled with okra, lettuce, all kinds of herbs, tomatoes, beans and more!

Looking forward to following your blog and hearing more about your life :)
