Make your own, silly!
It isn't hard and it is super cheap!!!!
Notice how tall the bread pan is in this picture.
Tofu, meet you. You, meet your tofu....
That is over a 1/2 cup of liquid extracted. The most I have ever gotten out of tofu!!!!
Slice your tofu in half lengthwise. That is some dense tofu!
Lets make a meal...shall we?
Wash and chop 1/2 of a large bunch of Bok Choy
In a hot skillet add 1 tbls. olive oil and add your tofu. When the bottom is browned flip over and top with 1 heaping spoonful of chopped garlic and about a tablespoon of red pepper flakes, cook it all together.
Add your bok choy. The water off of the bokchoy will be enough to steam it. Shake the pan and toss.
Add 1 tsp. sesame seeds and some teriyaki sauce, or if you are lucky enough to find a teriyaki sauce with sesame seeds in it like me, add that instead. What ever you like. I just wanted a taste, so I added about 1/4 cup. Be careful about sugar content in teriyaki sauce and preservatives, try to find a really good one!

Love the creativity! I totally agree with you on the tofu press. Food looks delish!
I really whined to Chris daily and we even went shopping for a tofu press in Wichita, thank goodness no one carried one. This one is free!!!! The weights are brilliant. I have 1lb-10lb. weights!!!!! Thank you for the compliments ladies!!!! It was tasty!
Haha I love your creativity, you did a great job pressing out that liquid! Dare I suggest the "tofu x-press", its not $300 and it has made me love tofu SO much more!!!
amanda, please, dare dare...lol
Tofu is delicious and I feel that more people would love it if it was prepared correctly. What is not to love!!!! Creamy, sometimes crunchy, smooth and satiny!!! Everything you love nothing you don't and for those peopl that say they hate the taste......what taste? LOL
I heard you can infuse with the tofu express is that true???
I have never seen tofu look so good.
Thanks so much for this idea! Today, I just bought tofu for the first time ever!!! And I've been looking for something to make with Bok Choy... so I will give this recipe a try.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the tofu xpress. You can press the dickens out of some tofu, then marinate it right in the press. amazing stuff. although, it would seem that you saved yourself $35 by having a crafty husband :)
Doh! I've never thought of pressing tofu. See I'm learning loads from your blog :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. You may have guessed that hubby is a serious ultra runner as are most of our friends. They are a wide range of nice people who are completely bonkers!
Hi VV,
I grew up watching my mom and sisters cook tofu and they never pressed it. Just drained it, chopped it up and cooked it. So that's what I do. I've tried pressing it but can't tell the difference in taste or texture.

Beach- Aww, thank you so much!!!
Mimi Z-I hope you like it. It really isn't much of a recipe, just thrown together in a pan!
Radioactivegan- My husband rocks, doesn't he!!!
Allybea- That is cool you are learning new things!! What is it like to have an ultra runner in the family? Is he strict with diet. Do they run in extreme conditions?
The Gardeners cottage-
Hmmpf? You really cannot tell the difference in texture? I am stumped...You are very lucky!!!
I literally have a hard time eating todu if it is not totally drained. I adore tofu, and wish I could just skip the draining because sometimes you just want tofu, like right now!!! Well, other than when I make lasagna, then I just barely drain it and crumble.
What kind of recipes do you use your tofu in?
Lol! Hubby is not strict with his diet. He eats anything and everything. His argument is that he burns it off when he's running. I keep telling him if he ate more sensibly he would run better/faster but he's not convinced. Yet!
Allybea-My husband is stick thin and tells me he can eat whatever he wants....irritating! I told him I want him to be with me forever and the food he eats is killing him, but then he says at least he will die happy...Men
Very cool weights, looks like you were having fun in the kitchen:) That bok choy is calling me...
Thanks Janet! I love to cook so much!
