Happy Mother's Day!

I am really spoiled by my family...but I think it is a good thing. I like to be waited on for one day out of the year and not have to worry about dishes or dinner.
My husband makes the most amazing french toast!
It is not vegan, so those of you that are not interested in non vegan food look away!

I love eggs benedict so much, being a vegan I rarely, if ever even think about it. But my oldest daughter knows me so well she decided to make it for me today and I ate every bite! Chris made his famous french toast and coffee.

When I woke up the house was busy. Emma had arrived at 8:30am and she and Kaiti made me a cake and decorated the dining room table.
Emma was busy making breakfast!
Chris was hard at work making melon balls
The strawberry poke cake!!! With homemade strawberry whipped cream!
Three yellow roses to represent my mother.
Green and pink roses from my girls.
My gifts, more than I could ever ask for....
Chi, being festive!
The poke cake. So darn good, I ate two pieces today!
On a personal note;
This is the first Mothers day that I have had since my mother died, that I did not cry all day. I miss my mother horribly, but today I allowed my family to love me in their way and I cannot tell you how much to meant to me to be their mother and my husbands wife.
The food is not what I normally eat and the proportions were hefty, but I wouldn't change a thing...It was the greatest day I have had in more years than I can count!
I am truly blessed to have the family that I do!!!!
I hope everyone's Mother's Day was as sweet and peaceful as mine.

I'm glad you were spoiled today! I got an electronic Tetris game - my childhood love. And two avocado trees! Yay! I'm also glad you were able to fully enjoy the day. :)

Thank you so much Alicia!

MissM- I am so glad you got tetris and avocado trees!!! That is exciting, I wish I could grow fruit trees here in Kansas, well other than apples and pears...
I am glad you had a lovely day!!!

My husband is lost when it comes to holidays and birthdays, he totally relies on the girls to help him. Men....sometimes they are just helpless...lol
I think it is great you had your sons with you. I think it is important to all be together on special days, isn't that where the real joy of the holidays come from?
I wish your boys could cook, did they take you out to eat???

Oh my goodness, what a cake! I think that qualifies as a mother's day BRUNCH!

You strike me as someone who will have a genius answer to my latest blog-post question. Please help! And ask anyone else that might too!
