Kombucha and some light reading

HAPPY WEEKEND PEOPLE!!!

How is everyone today???
It is 2:22am and this was supposed to be my Friday post....
Can you say I had a busy day? LOL

THIS IS KOMBUCHA!

It is the most disgusting thing I have ever put to my lips and I have tried some funky things...It tastes like a carbonated apple cider vinegar..... I was not put off by the mother floating in it, or the dark, dank green sludge that was stuck to the bottom. I am cool like that....LOL I didn't even shrink away from the over powering smell! It was the vinegar taste that took it over the edge for me. If you buy this, beware it is potent. While it is touted a health drink, I am just not sold. I will not be buying any more of this....ever!

This is my very first raw cookbook. I have skimmed through it and it seems like a good read. When I read more I will share my own input. Do any of you have this book and what is your opinion about it?

So, what are you plans for the weekend?
Me? I am doing laundry...Do you envy me....?

Brandi,

Dan's comment about kombucha is "it is an acquired taste, and not one I wish to acquire." I bought a 6 pack and 4 of them are still here. Needless to say we weren't fans either though we really wanted to like it.

I don't have that book but can't wait to hear what you think of it. I may have to pick this up soon. ;-)

It is supposed to rain all weekend here so nothing much happening at our place.

talk to you soon,
Ali

I heart kombucha!!!! I didn't use to. I was once like you and thought barf! However, one day I had a craving for it and have loved it since. I've tried that brand (love it) but haven't tried that particularly flavor you got. It's not one that interests me at all. There are other kombucha brands that lean more towards sweet, ones I would consider good introductions into the kombucha world. One I tried recently that wasn't vinegar-y at all. Tasted more like a vitamin water. Unfortunately, I can't remember the names. Oh, Honest Tea (I think) is one. But anyway, if I remember the names I'll let you know if you want to give it a try again. You were brave to try the more green flavors! I like grape best. Right now we're making our own. :)

I love Kombucha! I wish Alicia loved it so she'd post a recipe on how I could make my own. It's expensive.
