Rain and tornado's abound and I swear I saw a witch on a bicycle go by my bedroom window..

She gave me a Sunshine Award!!! I have never received an award before and I am so touched, she even said that she would like her blog to be like mine when it grew up! How cute is that!!!
This is what the filling looks like! TVP, browning sauce, vegan bouillon, peas and green beans, celery and onions. Topped with garlic mashed potatoes!
This is prepaked....So you are asking yourself, Self? Where is the final dish? Is it just too ugly to show? I am going to spare you....and yes it was......
Honestly, it is hideous. While my theory is to show you my mistakes, this is just too embarrassing to share. It was delicious and Chris will gladly take it to work and I will eat it for lunch for a couple of days. No harm no foul...LOL
See my cute stainless steel tasting spoon in the background? Isn't it sweet in it's tiny cuteness??
I am off to go clean up my kitchen, pack up lunches for Chris and relax for the night.
What is your worst cooking experience, I am curious?

Congratulations on the award! Glad it made you smile.
Sometimes things just don't photograph well. We have all had that happen.
My worst cooking experience? That isn't an easy question. Fortunately I have been cooking a long time so most of my disasters were long ago. But I do remember my first attempt at seitan. Not my finest moment I assure you. It was a little like having flavorless bubble gum for dinner. Thankfully I figured it out fairly quickly. LOL.
talk to you later,
Alicia
I have never had Shepard's Pie before!! Can you believe it? I really want to try it!!
Alicia-Glad to know I was not the only one that blew seitan. lol
Jolene, Shepherds pie is comfort food at it's best. I love to serve it with roasted carrots if I do not add any. I had some carrots on the side with this and it was scrumptious~ You should give it a go. I created mine out of Katie Browns cookbook, it was full of meat and oil. Now it is tvp and water saute!!
Congrats on the "sunny" award! Well deserved.
I've never had Shephard's pie either. And yes, I've had many mishaps in the kitchen. One time trying a new recipe (for company) of some veggie burger (raw vegan kind). this didn't work at all. Horrible tasting. We ended up doing something completely different last minute that came out great. Phew.
HiHoRosie- It is funny what comes out of chaos!!! You should try shepherdpie. If you would like my complete recipe I can give it to you! Thanl you for the congrats, I am flattered.
I would be interested in the recipe if you're willing. I've always wanted to taste it but just never got around to it and now that there's a vegan version I just might have to. ;)
