Summertime, and the living is easy!!

Hello friends,
I am hoping all of you are enjoying your summer and doing something fun with those you love!

We have been having a lazy summer around here in Kansas. We have been swimming and shopping, grilling veggies and having family and friends stop by. The weather has been crazy here in Kansas and if any of you follow the weather report you will know what I am talking about. We will have several 100+ days of heat and then two days of 70 degree weather followed by thunderstorms and humidity. Ah Kansas.......bleck!

I thought I would stop by and let you know what we have been munching on here in the Vivacious household.
Lots of fruits and veggies, some breads and a lot of iced tea and fresh lemonade.
We are averaging about two watermelons a week here. I use them for fruit juices, salads and boba teas...YUM~
The sunflowers are in full bloom here and walking amongst them gives you a feeling of utter bliss!
We have not gone camping yet(as I hate the outdoors, or more accurately, bugs) but all of our friends have all gone at least twice!
My new favorite way to eat tofu is grilled with a balsamic reduction glaze with a touch of red pepper flake. Served with grilled bok choy!
Going to the farmers Market is so much fun on Saturday mornings, you never know what they will have! Krehbiels has the best produce in Kansas.
Grilled corn on the cob! No butter necessary, and topped with a cajun pepper rub! Delish!
Tons and Tons of grilled veggies!

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

Oh, Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush little baby
Don't you cry

One of these mornings
You're going to rise up singing
Then you'll spread your wings
And you'll take to the sky

But until that morning
There's a'nothing can harm you
With your daddy and mammy standing by

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

ps ~ i just recently posted a white gazpacho that i am in serious love with. it goes great with a big platter of grilled veggies. try it, if it fits into your diet restrictions. it's super easy.
I'd love your opinion.

I paused before coming here b/c it felt like you were pickin' on me at my blog, so I'm just making sure my friend Brandi is okay. Your summer food looks good, by the way.

I am sorry if you interpretted my comment as picking on you, I was joking with you. I cannot eat what you are eating, but I thought if I could change it up some I could make a fair replication of your dish. No ill will was intended. Next time e-mail me directly when you assume something and I will talk to you directly instead of on my commenting format. :)

You've got me heading for the watermelon I've got on the counter. The fridge is too full of groceries to hold the leftovers...so I was trying to wait...but oh my! ;-)

The sunflowers photo reminds me of one of my favorite films, Everything is Illuminated. So beautiful.
