Some of you have asked me about my progress and how I feel about the Eat to Live lifestyle.
I try to be brutally honest about how I feel regarding this lifestyle choice and also about my progress.
So here is the entire scoop....
In the beginning I hated the E2L plan...It is one of the most brutal things I have ever done in my life. I whined and groaned, felt sorry for myself and had little pissy fits daily!!
I drove my family crazy and everyone literally told me to just shut up and eat my regular foods... NOT A VERY PROMISING SOUNDING START! Jump to a month later......I was still whining......
How about today?
I am totally adapted to eating E2L I have lost more than 46 pounds and most of my detox symptoms are behind me.
So what do I eat?
Loads of seedless watermelonWe eat alot of Chinese food. It doesn't hurt that my daughter is marrying a sushi chef either, but we get the freshest California rolls around. We eat, soba noodles, and broccoli, boatloads of rice, overcooked chinese cabbage in a soy broth and lightly braised mushrooms with crisp green beans.
The things I have given up:
SUGAR
FLOUR
OIL
BREAD
PIZZA
COOKIES
CAKES
CHIPS
POP
POTATOES
GRAVIES
SAUCES
POISONOUS GMO LACED SOY PRODUCTS ie.. TOFUTTI PRODUCTS
I also stay away from frozen soy ice creams and processed foods.
~
My definition of processed foods are alot different from what most people think. I will not eat any food that I do not know the ingredients. I do not eat homemade processed foods ie. raw nut meats. I eat olives sparingly and rarely more than two at a time. I do not eat any sauces like ketchup or vegenaise anymore either.
I am really strict with what I eat. I do not consume any dates or raisins. I eat nuts very sparingly. I do not drink processed nut or soy milks.
I take folic acid, vitamin c, vitamin e and vitamin d. All are vegan and organic.
Most of the foods I eat are organic or low on the dirty fruit and vegetable list. I try to eat only in season produce and fruits. I avoid any questionable fruit or veggies.
I still eat a ton of veggies everyday, I also have a huge salad for lunch each day.
I eat a pound or more of vegetables and a pound of fruit each a day.
I still experience pain daily and I still struggle sometimes with cravings, but they are not like they use to be. The positive things about this way of eating far outweigh the negative aspects.
I can barely keep weight on and I eat more now than I ever have before. I am healthier than I have ever been in my life and my blood work at my last Remicade was amazing...
My doctor was amazed!
I hope that this encourages those of you that are thinking of E2L to give it a go, for those struggling, I hope that it gives you hope to continue. For those of you that stopped the E2L lifestyle, I hope you know I understand how hard it was and know that I still support you!
I will see you later, I have to go eat some grapes that are calling my name...lol

I'm so glad to hear that you made it through the detox stage! That is really impressive. Congratulations on your success, both with sticking to the plan and your improved health. I'm sure it sounds cheesy, but I'm really proud of you for it!
I am really proud, and that sounds cheesy too. I never thought I was going to make it this far. This was tough! I am happy that I have leveled out!!!!

46 pounds!! WOW:)
I need to lose 10-15 pounds, and I have considered doing this diet. (I've probably mentioned this before...but I haven't "gotten around" to starting it yet.) So I enjoyed reading this, too. I have so many questions about why you can't eat certain things (like raw nut meat). I guess I just need to buy the book? That'll tell me everything I need to know?
Congrat to you on the 46 lbs gone and also for sticking to it. That deserves a standing ovation! I'm really happy for you! btw, that Korean soup and marinated bok choy look heavenly!
I am so happy for you!! You deserve so much credit for sticking with it and now you are enjoying the payoff:) This is such wonderful news.
Congratulations! Wow - that's an amazing story.
I'm still interested in more details on what you eat! (Can you believe that?) What kind of seasonings do you use on your rice and veggies? Also, any particular reason you don't eat plain potatoes? (Nightshades?)
Glad to hear you're feeling better - that makes it all worthwhile.
Wow, congrats on your improved health and for sticking with E2L! I've been meaning to give it a go myself at some point--I especially want to incorporate more raw foods into my diet and limit my processed flour consumption--and your story is inspiring me to move ever closer in that direction. Thanks for sharing!
Brandi, I am so proud of you! You have really accomplished something great! I hope to emulate your dedication to raw foods. Love you! Miss you! :)
