Spinach Smoothie

I was unable to upload any of my smoothie pictures for you this morning. The snow here must be interferring with my computer signal.
The weather man here in Kansas reported that we should be getting any where from 3-5 inches of snow.
He was actually right this time. Our yard is coated in heavy snow, perfect to make a snow man in!
My daughters car threw a belt last night at 11pm in Hutchinson, which is 40 minutes away. My husband talked her through getting home, but now he has to go work out in the snow replacing it. I am hoping it is not a hard belt to replace like the timing belt. Oh, Chris just told me it is the serpentine belt and will not be fun, especially in the cold...Poor guy!

Since I knew Chris would be out in the cold I decided to start him off with a smoothie and then flood him with peppermint tea afterward to keep his blood flowing.

Here is the smoothie I made today

Spinach Smoothie
3-4 cups spinach, I eye balled it, this is a guesstimate
2 brazil nuts
3 frozen banana's
2 tsp. golden flax seed, ground
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
water
16 ounces ice

Throw everything in your blender and then turn it on, let it blend until you have a uniform green color. Stop machine taste to see if it needs anything. Mine needed more water. Pour into your favorite smoothie glass and WALA, breakfast is served.

Chris is on his final leg of his cold. The coughing has started and the phlegm is working it's way out. Tomorrow I am going to do a clean sweep and get rid of any nasty cold spores that could still be lurking.

Well that is all for today bloggie peeps. I am going to go crawl back into bed where it is warm and watch Bones season 1 all over again....
Ciao,
Viv~

I bet the cinnamon and ginger were the perfect warming touch for this smoothie. It snowed like mad up here in KC too!

HSK-
Thank you! I do prefer a kale smoothie to a spinach smoothie, but since I had never tried spinach I thought what the heck! LOL
I really think you will like this combo of flavors!

Amber-
I miss city snow compared to country snow. If it snows up there by the time you are ready to go to work the city has already plowed the roads and your parking lot at the apartment complex....Here in the country...they plow when they can get ahold of Earl, as long as he is not sleeping, lol
It was a really nice combo and yes it was warm feeling!

Carissa, just mentioned ginger and cinnamon for smoothies, too. I will have to try it!

I may have asked you before, but where in the Midwest are you? It's definitely a special place to be vegan...

Cassie- I am in the center of Kansas outside of Hutchinson. It is interesting living in the middle of cattle country...
definately try the cinnamon ginger combo, you will never go back to plain ones again! Let me know what you think!
