Super Health Smoothie

Hi fellow bloggers,
How is everyone this chilly winter evening? I am sitting on my sofa in my PJ's, curled into a super soft blanket, writing this post for you while my daughter watching The Vampires Assistant on DVD. It is a cute movie and I recommend it, although smaller children should probably not view this film as it has some frightening scenes and a few bad words.
As you know I have been suffering a cold.
I must have caught it while Emma was in the hospital...You gotta love a lowered immune system!
Not~
I wanted to really start my mornings with a smoothie and thanks to my Ninja Blender now I can!

I wanted an all natural, no fillers kinda smoothie and I wanted something that would shock my system enough to force this cold out of me. I think it has done the trick, as I started expelling some mucus and finally I started to cough and work out some phlegm that has been plaguing me.( I know this is probably to much info, but you should know what it will do for you, right?)

I know this sounds so intriguing you want me to show you how I did it right....?

Super Smoothie

2 handfuls of washed and torn kale
1 Rome apple, washed and cut up, do not peel
2 frozen banana's cut into thirds
1/2 tsp. minced garlic, I buy mine already minced and organic
2 organic lemons juiced
1.5 cups homemade high pulp orange juice, I make my own and will be featured as tomorrows post
Throw everything in your blender or food processor, blend until smooth add ice if desired.
I think it looks like Christmas in a glass. The garlic was present but not overwhelming. This recipe made enough for Chris and I to have two small ball jars full. I was worried that the garlic would be too forward and Chris would turn his nose up at it, but he happily drank his down and said it was quite tasty...YAY me!
I was impressed by the fast acting effects of the combo of whole foods in this smoothie. I could actually feel a warming in my system and then my nose started running and the mucus just let go. I unclogged within 8 hours and when the coughing started and the phlegm broke up, I knew I would make this again and again. Chris noticed also that his plugged up sinuses let loose. The headache that was plaguing him left and he was more mentally alert, did I mention I shared my cold with my family???
~
Hopefully this will pass soon and we will be back to our normal rowdy selves.
I will post tomorrow how I make my high pulp orange juice for smoothies!
XOXO
Viv~

i've been drinking bird nest soup every night (i only get the homemade kind back at home). the only reason why i drink it is because it's supposed to be good for complexion.

i’ve been taking the store-bought kind online (e.g. www.geocities.jp/hongkong_bird_nest/index_e.htm of famous branded only of course) which is directly mailed from Hong Kong. this would be at a more affordable price.
